CALCOGRAPHIC ENGRAVING
Chalcographic engraving or vacuum engraving is a printing technique in which the images obtained are the result of stamping with a torcul or press on a metal plate in which incisions have been made to contain the ink that it will be fixed on the paper. These incisions can be made in a number of ways, either by scraping directly or using various techniques that use acid. The way the incisions are made will be one of the factors that will also determine the number of copies that will come out of each image.
