Chalcographic engraving or vacuum engraving is a printing technique in which the images obtained are the result of stamping with a torcul or press on a metal plate in which incisions have been made to contain the ink that it will be fixed on the paper. These incisions can be made in a number of ways, either by scraping directly or using various techniques that use acid.
