"Dune" has been made with the technique of the black manner (manière noire) or mezzo-tinta.
It is a direct technique of chalcogra c engraving in which the plate must be sanded with a sander so that it has a totally opaque black when stamped and later scraping and flattening to remove whites.
In this case, a false black pattern has been made by making the grain with aquatint and subsequently scraping with a scraper and flattening with a burnisher.
Only 4 copies have been made on Michel paper of 240 grams in crude color of 40 x 28 cm.
