This engraving has been made in dry point on a copper plate 16 cm high by 12 wide.
The technique in question is one of the direct techniques of chalcographic engraving which consists of scratching with a point on the plate so that the metal is lifted to create the chosen drawing.
The peculiarity of the dry point is that it only allows a limited number of copies to be made, as the burrs are removed as you stamp and the essence of the technique is lost. These burrs are the small pieces of metal that are attached to the lines when lifting
the metal with the tip.
In this case, for this particular design, only six copies were made on Michel paper of 240 grams in raw color.
